{"id":107,"date":"2022-01-29T19:16:24","date_gmt":"2022-01-29T19:16:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rvsystems.ca\/?p=107"},"modified":"2022-03-04T21:46:20","modified_gmt":"2022-03-04T21:46:20","slug":"airtravel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rvsystems.ca\/index.php\/2022\/01\/29\/airtravel\/","title":{"rendered":"Carry On Essentials"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/rvsystems.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/IMG_7688-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-112\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rvsystems.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/IMG_7688-rotated.jpg 480w, https:\/\/rvsystems.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/IMG_7688-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are my 10 carry-on travel essentials.&nbsp; Over the years the list changes as travel changes.&nbsp; Preparing ahead for a successful trip never changes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Vaccination documents.\u00a0 I printed a copy of the travel documents and organized them in a duo-tang folder.\u00a0 We had them electronically, but it is far easier to hand over a printed booklet organized with tabs to customs or airline officials.\u00a0 Especially when the officials are behind a plexi-glass divider.\u00a0<\/li><li>Travel package sanitizing wipes and a pack of tissues.\u00a0 Whether cleaning up after a meal or cleaning an area to sit we found them very useful. <\/li><li>Extra Masks.\u00a0 Times have changed due to Covid.\u00a0 Several medical grade masks that are comfortable is a must.\u00a0 I like having my mask on a leash so I can let it hang while I eat or drink.\u00a0 2019 I was on a flight from Vancouver to Hong Kong.\u00a0 One of the passengers became very sick. The stewardess attending to the passenger put on a mask.\u00a0 Passengers around the sick passenger began to request a mask.\u00a0 When the stewardess ran out of disposable masks passengers began to grumble about their rights to be provided a mask to wear.\u00a0 How dare the airline run out of masks.\u00a0 How times change!<\/li><li>The cables, adapters, and the charging block.\u00a0 Packing cubes have been on the market for a while.\u00a0 I found one that fit our electronic charging accessories perfectly.\u00a0<\/li><li>Power bank for charging phones.\u00a0 I picked up a power bank to charge phones a few years ago and it has worked amazing.\u00a0 It charges a phone quicker than the plug-in adapter.\u00a0 I keep it in an outside pocket on my travel pack.\u00a0 I take it out to go through security.\u00a0 They don\u2019t ask for the power bank to be removed but every time I don\u2019t I end up in secondary screening.<\/li><li>Two days of clothing.\u00a0 I have had my checked baggage delayed so often it is better to assume I will arrive without my checked bags.\u00a0 I found a packing cube that fits my travel bag perfectly.\u00a0 It is so much easier to dig something out when my clothes are in a packing cube.\u00a0 So much easier at security if selected for secondary screening.\u00a0<\/li><li>Toiletry bag.\u00a0 I use a Tumi bag that is airline approved for liquids and gels.
